Shopping Companion

This adorable shopping companion can be personalized to hold your shopping list and related coupons, or a list of birthdays and gift ideas, or whatever else you need to get organized! If you find an interesting way to use this crafty organizer, please share it on the Forum Page.

First you need to pick a beautiful piece of heavy weight, two sided, 12 x 12 inch paper. I used paper that I just got from Stampin' UP and I LOVE IT! (You can order supplies from my Stampin' Up representative, Val here Paper
Mark the paper at the 4 inch and 8 inch points on both the top and bottom of the paper, then score a line at both the 4 inch and 8 inch points. Fold the sides in. Folds
Now mark and score a line horizontally, about 7.5 inches from the top of the paper and fold up.
Punch holes as close as you can to the edges, and each crease. See arrows!
Set coordinating eyelets in the holes.
Pass some ribbon through the eyelets, leaving about 5 inches of ribbon on the left end, and extra on the right end so you can wrap it back around the back of the organizer so that when you fold it up, there are two loose ends that you can use to tie up the folder. It's a little hard to explain - check out the photo on the next step. Pass Ribbon Through Eyelets
Tie knots on the outside of the folder to secure ribbon.
Add details to personalize your organizer and add functionality. I've added some Pretty Paperclips (get the how-to click here) so that oversized coupons and notes can be attached. I've also added some details by stamping and embossing. I also adhered a matching Post-it note pad for last minute notes.
By folding 2 mini envelopes and cuting of the top flap (which would seal the envelopes) then staggering them and adhering them to the organizer, I've made a card holder for those loyalty cards that are such a pain to keep track of. You could easily make 3 or 4 mini envelopes and stagger them to hold more cards.
Fold up the organizer and tie it together with the ribbon. Toss it into your purse when you are going shopping so that you have everything on hand!

I'm probably going to add a little detail to the front of the organizer. If you have any other details to add, or other possible uses for this handy organizer, please share them on the Forum Page!
