ccording to Copyright Law, poetry and other works of literature
become part of the 'public domain' after a certain period of time. Once they are part of the public domain,
they are free to use! My understanding of the law is: a copyright generally lasts 50-70 years after the
author of the work dies unless the author is unknown, then it's 95-120 years from the date created or
published - whichever is shorter. Don't take my word for it though, you can find out more information on the Berne
